Modifications may be necessary when there are changes in the lives of one or both parties. Court orders or previously agreed upon settlements may need to be updated due to fluctuations in income, loss of employment, or other changes in circumstances. These modifications can be mutually agreed upon or caused by a problem arising between the two parties. Many parts of an agreement may need to be updated, such as alimony, custody, and parenting time. It is important to recognize that a divorce agreement is designed to be a final document and can only be amended/modified in specific circumstances.
